Robert Joseph

Editor, Meininger’s Wine Business International, UK

Robert Joseph has a broad experience of the international wine industry. He discovered the basics of wine service at a young age in his parents’ hotel in the English countryside. This was followed by five years living in one of the colder villages of Burgundy’s Hautes Côtes where he learned about soil, climate, grape-growing and winemaking. Over the last 3 decades, he has written for several newspapers, published over 20 books, made a few wine videos and won some awards. Most recently, he helped to launch Meininger’s Wine Business International, of which he is still editor at large.

He also started the International Wine Challenge which became one of the biggest wine competition in the world. This led to involvement in a number of other competitions across the globe in countries ranging from South Africa and Australia to Russia, Vietnam and China.

He recently created DoILikeIt? working on original forms of consumer and trade research
