Julian Perry

Julian was, and still is, a software and systems geek who started writing code back in the mid-70’s and was soon solving the Rubik’s cube in software, hacking of course, and working covertly for the Ministry of Defence in the evenings from his bedroom, aged 14.  A long career writing software and building systems was inevitable and after working for Hewlett Packard Laboratories and freelance in IT for commodities traders and banking Julian founded a London-based internet development and hosting business in 1995.

Julian started an enjoyable association with the wine industry working on websites for wine retail with Sainsbury’s and then a 25-year collaboration with Berry Bros. & Rudd on their industry leading online presence.  Martin Brown asked Julian to build and host the Wine-Searcher website in 1999 and that long partnership lead to him being asked to take the helm as CEO at Wine-Searcher in 2018.  Despite running a mature business Julian is committed to finding new opportunities for Wine-Searcher to link leading edge tech. with the wine industry.
