Chairman and CEO, Taransaud and Chêne & Cie, France

Henri de Pracomtal, HEC 1974, Stanford Executive Program 2000, began his career in 1975 in banking at Crédit Lyonnais. From 1981 to 1983, he worked in the United States, in Chicago, then in Atlanta as Vice President for the south of the United States.

In 1983, he joined Hennessy (LVMH Group), leader in the Cognac industry, as Financial Director and in 1992 became Chairman of the Management Board.

In September 1997, Henri de Pracomtal bought the Taransaud cooperage from LVMH, and surrounded himself with family shareholders within “Chêne & Cie”. Chêne & Cie has become a benchmark in international cooperage for all the great wines and spirits of the world. He is Chairman and CEO of Taransaud and Chêne & Cie, which employs 350 people worldwide, including 220 at Taransaud in Cognac.
