Dr Edo Heyns is the Marketing and Strategic Development Director at Advini South Africa and a leading South African wine industry academic. After studying viticulture and oenology at Stellenbosch University, Dr Heyns embarked a career in wine media management. As the editor of WineLand Magazine, South Africa’s most read wine publication, he gained a reputation as one of South Africa’s most respected wine industry commentators.
Heyns holds an MBA (Cum Laude) and PhD in business management from Stellenbosch Business School and regularly lectures on innovation to business school groups from across the globe. His research about organic wine marketing was published in the Journal of Wine Research and was presented at an American Association of Wine Economists conference. Heyns’ PhD dissertation examined innovation in family owned businesses and was presented at the Family Firm Institute Conference in London.
