Birte Jantzen
Born in Hamburg, Birte left for France at the age of 21, with 5,000 francs in her pocket, to conquer the world of haute couture and fashion. In 2011, her encounter with the world of wine made her change course. Since then, she has trained in sensory analysis in Suze-La-Rousse, obtained the DipWSET, and followed the viti-oeno courses of the prestigious Geisenheim University as a guest student. In 2016 she joined the team of tasters of the guide Bettane & Desseauve and works as a freelance journalist for the French and international press. She also teaches at the University of Geisenheim, gives lectures, organizes Masterclasses and divides her time between France and Germany although she spends most of her time in the vineyards. She is currently organising the first international 2-day colloquium about Vineyards & Biodiversity set for 2021. Since 2012, she has been sharing her discoveries and favourites on her blog Winebubble.
